Yes, this is what I posted on social media today.

The pessimism was heavy today, so I decided to share my thoughts with the internet. Let's see how many views that gets!

Midlife authoring is proving more exhausting than I anticipated. And it's not the writing; it's the marketing. I am trying to pivot to my target demographic, the Gen X woman. Mostly women over 50 are my people of interest. Women in my generation are working their asses off and still have their Gen Z children living at home because they can't afford their own house. They need reassurance in this fucked up world. I know I do.

The midlife, Gen X woman tends to scroll during midday and early evening. I didn't realize Gen X women were all over the place when it comes to tracking social media habits. I'm scrolling with my second cup of java at 7:00 am, but this time slot didn't engage my fellow midlifers when I did a morning post trial.

Time to take a break.

This weekend will be devoted to writing the last two books of the Fictional Memoir Series. Writing psychological fiction with twists and turns requires a lot of outlining and editing. It demands my full attention. I have the house to myself so that I can do some marathon brainstorming and spitballing. I even stocked up my refrigerator for this event. My playlist of focus music is ready to go!

I am behind schedule for the release of Book 2, which is supposed to be August. Instead of stressing over social media content, I will schedule my weekly content on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. I may choose Wednesday and Thursday for a content dump to maintain my algorithm. This method proved to be effective in the past. I experienced burnout a few months ago, so this 'dumping' method is better for my mental health.

Hopefully, I will be able to reach my former Latch Key kids with the weekly content dump. I have a deadline to reach, and scheduling my content will become a habit for the next two months.

Thank you to those who downloaded Vortex on Kindle Unlimited. I love to see the pages read when I log on to KDP, and those numbers motivate me to write more books.

The next update will be the word count that I achieved over this upcoming weekend.

Until next time!
